On Pharmacy
So, Hawaii’s actually not one of the top-paying states, nor does it have a high demand for pharmacists. The best-paying states are supposedly California, Alaska, Nevada,  Florida, Wisconsin,  Delaware,  Minnesota,  New Hampshire,  Tennessee, and  Oregon. I mean, statistics might change by the time I graduate, but I guess my number one choice for now would be Florida. I mean, California...

Food, Fellowship, and Futures
Today is one of those days I wish I had more often, but I’m glad that I don’t. I met up with Soddong unni today to have lunch, take sticker pictures, and just sit and talk in a bakery with iced coffees and a slice of cake. We had a lot to catch up on, especially “old news” about boys. We spent the day like that until 6 o’clock hit and Sue SSN picked us up to...

SoHo, Dumplings, and Friends
Today was a good day shopping with Michelle Chen and Lisa Lee. Although it was raining and we bought stuff for ourselves after swearing we weren’t going to spend money, I got to learn some useful Chinese phrases/words and we had our fun just spending quality time together.  After shopping, we bought some awesome dumplings from the hole-in-the-wall and borrowed DVD’s from Flushing...

That Darn C+
Wow, I can’t believe I spent Christmas Eve as one of my most unproductive days ever. Gosh, it doesn’t even feel like Christmas Eve. I slept in until like 11:30, then stayed in bed little longer ‘cause I was so tired. I spent the rest of the day just finishing up Dexter Season 2, which I did and I was left just thinking “Wow…” and tsk-tsking and “Damn!...

One For The Future
So I just finished reading “Along For The Ride” by Sarah Dessen and the book’s all about second chances. One day, I want a second chance at prom. I wasn’t able to go and although I may have brushed it off, I really, really wanted to go. Hell, I even asked the guy I liked if he wanted to be my date, he said yes, but we ended up not going. Not that I’m saying I regret...

Working On Them Christmas Gifts
I found what I was looking for! Even when I wasn’t looking for it, I found it. Gosh, don’t you love when that happens? I really hope people like the Christmas gift I am making for them :)

Ugh
I hate when I put things off to the side for too long that I have to start making excuses and lie to people in fear that I might disappoint them if I don’t. Or in fear that I might get disappointed from disappointing them. It’s a selfishly sick habit.

Good Day
I had so much fun hanging out (unexpectedly) with Michelle Chen today. (I tutor Matthew right around the corner of Michelle’s house.) It was fun just catching up, trying to solve the secret santa riddles, going stationary hunting in Main Street, and just chillin’. Oh gosh, now I REALLYREALLY know what I want to make everyone for Christmas, but I don’t really know where to start...

Instead of studying for my chem final, I kept FALLING ASLEEP. No matter how many intervals on the alarm I put and even if I woke up to all of them, I STILL FELL ASLEEP. OHMYGOSH, I’M SO SCARED. </3

Heartbreak
My father: “If he [my brother] keeps this up [as in cutting school and bringing home fake report cards], I’m only raising him in this house ‘til he’s 18 and kicking him out afterwards. If he’s not gonna study, he better start working after high school.” My brother swore to me that he didn’t fail any classes. I believed him. And he said I could believe in...

Ahhhhhhhhhh so Russell won SYTYCD tonight. I mean, he’s a great dancer, but I wanted Jakob or Kathryn to win :( Oh wells, can’t wait ‘til next season! So, ‘tis the night before my statistics final and right now I started reading “Winter’s Child” by Cameron Dokey and I’m downloading season 1 of Dexter since Cameron recommended the show and I heard...

All The Good Shows Are Ending...
So, today was my philosophy final and the multiple choice was really, really tricky. All the freakin’ Marx questions were so confusing! And there were like 10 of them and the MC questions are 2 points each, so they’ll add up if I get them wrong. And I wasn’t 100% confident with the Freud and Sartre questions either…. =( But oh my gosh, praise the Lord, my brother...

Looking Forward to Trip to Albany
So, tomorrow’s my philosophy final and I just went through the study guide for the second time. Everything seems pretty understandable…I think. Haha. But I’m not really worried about my philosophy final, or even my statistics final this Thursday, because I’m dreading chemistry which is on Saturday. Yes, a final on a Saturday morning; a time when I could be sleeping in or...

Holiday Party at WorkStudy
So today was the annual holiday party at D.A.I.L., my WorkStudy place, and I thought it would be like the Thanksgiving party, with all the good food and good company and whatnot. But there was more! After eating, the whole floor got together in front of the little, fake Christmas tree with a plethora of gifts underneath, and everyone started giving out presents to each other. What surprised me was...

Peony In Love by Lisa See
Don’t you just love it when someone reads a book that you’ve read and enjoyed A LOT and the two of you just can’t stop talking and ranting and laughing and fantasizing about what happened in the story? You all should read Peony In Love by Lisa See! My daring, Michelle Liu, finally read it and gosh, she loved it! We just can’t stop obsessing about it! <3

Two More Weeks
So, I’m trying to read through the “Economic and Philosophical Manuscripts of 1844” by Karl Marx, which is one of the readings I’m getting tested on on my philosophy final, and it’s one of the most boring pieces of writing that I have ever read in my life. God, why does MY philosophy class have to be so boring? WHY?! Also, my tutor student, Matthew, is taking the...

My homepage is the NYTimes and the biggest news as soon as I got home was about the draws for the World Cup! I got so excited that I checked out the FIFA website to check the schedule for the matches and South Korea’s one of the first teams to play! South Korea is playing against Greece first, then Argentina, and then Nigeria. It was sad that at the last world cup, we got bumped off after...

Year In Review: Music of 2009
So I noticed today that there have been lots of releases in the music industry this year that I have yet to listen to. And I love making lists, so I made a list of albums/EPs that I enjoyed this year and the ones that I still need to listen to. (Oh, and I only listed American/English music because listing Korean, Christian, and other music will just make things more complicated.. haha!) ...

Dedicated to Cameron Mo We call it habit It fits into our hands like the perfect key It fits into our pockets Forgotten; unseen For us It’s a mindless Gluttonous feed Manifesting As though It provides all our needs Pandora can’t match Our limitless greed Compressed and repressed As it fights at the seams Tears holes and rips open Leaves fresh for the prey And we lie there inviting Willing to...
